I have been a funeral director since leaving education over 20 years ago. After working for a large organisation for many years, I felt there was a need in the area for a more personal family-oriented funeral director. I know how important it is for the bereaved to be able to speak with someone they can trust and not be treated like a number. The result is Jason O’Brien & Family Funeral Services Ltd.

Since marrying Jason in 2002 I have supported him in his role as a Funeral Director. After setting up our own business in 2012 I have been able to provide additional resources and now direct some funerals myself. I feel proud of what we have achieved and the many expressions of appreciation we receive for the personal service we provide.

Any funeral, whether for the closest loved one or a distant relative, can be an extremely emotional time. Making plans and carrying out the requests and wishes of the deceased can therefore be challenging to say the least. Some of these plans will be specifically yours or they can be influenced by relatives, friends, religion or culture. No matter what the rite of passage is, we are here to ensure all arrangements are made and carried out correctly.

No two funerals are the same. That is where we can assist you to personalise that final journey. Whether it will be a dignified solemn occasion or a thanksgiving life celebration, our aim is to support and guide you into making the right decisions regarding a Funeral Service.

How is this achieved? By asking a number of questions, carefully listening to the replies and then giving guidance and direction on choice and procedure. All requests will then be acted upon, culminating with the Service on the day of the Funeral.

Entering the funeral profession in 1991 and after receiving training and qualifications in Funeral Studies we can give you sound impartial advice on all aspects relating to a funeral. As a family orientated company we will provide you with a personally tailored Funeral Service rather than an “off-the-shelf’ generic service you might find with some other large organisations.
